Things from Today:
"Magnets! How do they work?!" - We spoke a little bit about the nature of magnetism, and what happens when you cut a magnet in half (do you end up with a separate north and south pole?? - spoiler... No...). I'm currently working on a short video about this, which I will link later on!Â
Science Fiction(?) - We had a pretty long and pretty nerdy chat about Sci-Fi (something all too easy to get me started on, but quite difficult to get me to stop talking about...). Particularly, we spoke about the hypothetical Alcubierre Drive, theorised in the mid-90's by Miguel Alcubierre as a possible way of getting around Einstein's Universal speed limit (the speed of light), to achieve super-luminal (faster than light) speeds. I've linked a long form interview with Miguel Alcubierre in the Extra Watching / Listening.

Homework
This 'homework' is recurring, and one I like to set my own students (and try to stick to myself!):
Learn something new everyday.
Share what you know with someone else.
Look at the world and "think like a Martian".
If you learn something interesting, I would love to hear about it! Tell me about it next time or drop me an email!
